Architect, formerly The Architect AI, is a private AI journal with a mentor that remembers. You write or talk; the mentor replies to what you actually wrote and can connect today's page with relevant earlier writing. Writing is free, the first 11 mentor responses are free with no card required, and the paid plan is $33 a month, $299 a year, or $9.99 a week.
Your journal is encrypted where it's stored, and the key stays with you. Architect is a tool for personal reflection, not therapy.

Pricing and the free allowance
- Writing is free, and every entry saves, on every plan.
- Free mentor replies. The first reading after the opening questions is free. Then you get 11 mentor responses in total (an entry and a follow-up count the same), once per email address, with no card required. After those, the free plan includes one mentor response per rolling seven-day period.
- One paid plan, Architect: $33 a month, $299 a year, or $9.99 a week, in US dollars. It renews at the interval you chose until you cancel, and has no daily cap on mentor replies.
- Cancelling. Any time, from Settings. Paid access lasts to the end of the period you paid for, and your journal stays yours.
Is Architect free?
Yes, to start, and writing stays free. Every entry saves on every plan, with no card required.
- The first 11: after the free first reading, you get 11 full mentor replies in total, once per email address.
- After that: the free plan keeps going with one mentor reply every 7 days, a rolling window from your last reply.
- What counts as a reply: each answer from a mentor counts as one, whether it replies to an entry or to a follow-up, and so does a second opinion from another mentor (See it through another lens).
- Paid plan: $33 a month, $299 a year, or $9.99 a week, in US dollars, with no daily cap on mentor replies.
How the mentor's memory works
The mentor draws on a dated selection of what you wrote: today's entries first, then up to ten recent ones, alongside selected dated notes and callbacks from earlier writing. When something you write echoes an older page, it can bring that line back with its date. It does not reread your entire journal for each response, it can miss context or get something wrong, and you can correct it in the conversation. Its notes about you are encrypted like the rest of your journal.
Privacy
- Stored: your journal is encrypted where it's stored, and the key stays with you. Entries, the mentor's replies and its notes about you are encrypted on your device (AES-256) before they are saved. There is no admin view of your journal.
- Processed: to write a reply, the text it needs is sent in readable form to our AI model provider for that moment. It is not used to train AI models. Voice notes go to a speech-recognition provider, and Listen and the Sitting send the reply's text to a voice provider to make the audio.
- Photos added since October 20, 2026 are encrypted on your device like your words; earlier ones are kept in private storage.
- Never sold, and never used for ad targeting. A list of our service providers is available on request at hello@architectapp.ai.
- Your key, your responsibility: if you lose your journal key (or your private password) and your session ends, your encrypted history cannot be recovered.
- Your data: export your whole journal free on every plan (Settings, Your Data, Take a copy); deleting your account permanently deletes it.

What you can do in it

What it is not: not therapy and not a substitute for professional care; not a general-purpose chatbot; and not a custom GPT or a mode inside another AI assistant. It is a standalone app at architectapp.ai. The product was called The Architect until October 2026; The Architect is still the name of its default mentor.
