An AI business coach with no flattery
By The Architect team · Last updated
We make Architect (formerly The Architect). What this page says about The Billionaire comes from the mentor's own instructions in the app, checked on October 29, 2026.
The AI business coach in Architect is a mentor called The Billionaire: you write what is going on in the business, and it answers with the counterargument first, its own numbers and how sure it is. It lives in a private journal, so it remembers what you wrote, and when, and coaches from your record rather than from a blank page.
Free to start, no card. What you write is encrypted on your device, the key stays with you, and it is never used to train AI.
How it coaches
The Billionaire coaches your thinking about the business: it argues with it. The app describes it in one line:
"Polymath. Counterargument first. No validation, no flattery, explicit confidence levels. Generates own numbers."
- You write it down. A price you are about to change, a hire, a partner who went quiet, a number that moved. Type it, speak it, or add a screenshot as a photo.
- It argues the other side first. No warm-up and no "great question". If it disagrees, it says so plainly, with its reasons, once.
- It brings its own numbers. It works the numbers through on its own, compares them with yours, and says how sure it is: high, moderate, low or unknown. It is built not to invent a figure, a source or a name; "I don't know" is an answer it gives.
- It ends on one variable. The close is the single thing the decision turns on, said plainly, and the decision stays yours.
The questions it reaches for:
- "What is the actual constraint here?"
- "Are you optimizing for the right variable?"
- "What's the highest-leverage thing in front of you?"
- "What's the version of this that compounds?"
- "What would you say no to so this could actually be great?"
What it sounds like
You: "Thinking of dropping our price from $60 to $40 to get more sign-ups. Conversions have been flat for two months."
The Billionaire: "The arithmetic first: at $40 you need half again as many paying customers just to keep revenue where it is. And I'd put only moderate confidence on flat conversions being a price problem at all; nothing here says people saw the price and left. Where do they drop off?"
You: "Honestly, I haven't looked."
The Billionaire: "Then look before you cut. I'd put high confidence on one variable deciding this: whether people leave at the price or before they ever see it. Once you know, the call is yours."
Next week, when you write that you looked, it can bring back this entry's line with its date, so the decision and its outcome sit side by side. How the memory works.
What it isn't
- Not a business-plan generator. It answers what you wrote. It is built to sharpen a decision, not to draft your deck or build your model.
- Not a person. It knows your business only through what you tell it, and it can be wrong. Correct it in the conversation; a better argument changes its mind.
- Not a file reader. There is no PDF or file upload. Paste the text, or add up to three screenshots to an entry as photos.
- Not a cheerleader. Every mentor starts gentle with someone new. Set the intensity to Direct or Ruthless and it grows into that as it gets to know you.
The other three mentors are on the AI mentor app page; what Architect is covers the whole app.
Free and paid
The Billionaire is on every plan. Choose it in Settings, Your mentor, or switch to it in the middle of a conversation. Writing is free, and every entry saves. The free plan includes 11 full mentor replies, then one reply every 7 days. No card is needed.
The paid plan is $33 a month, $299 a year, or $9.99 a week. It adds replies with no daily cap, Ask The Architect, which answers questions from your whole journal (what did I decide about pricing in March?), and Insights, the patterns that keep coming back. Every number is on the pricing page.
